Yi

I would like to describe my collection as a voyage to rural ethnic China. Where I come from has been described as the lost horizon as mentioned in James Hilton’ famous novel from 1933. My collection is full of colourful textiles and fabrics that play with the traditional silhouettes of specific chinese ethnic groups such as Yi and AXi group. This collection should invigorate your curiosity into distant lands that sometimes seem like light years away.

A digital artwork depicting six full-body female fashion illustrations, each presenting a distinct modern outfit that creatively integrates elements of traditional ethnic wear. The ensembles include long red skirts with patterned borders, black mini-skirts with pom-pom trim, wide-leg pants with geometric accents, and various tops like hoodies, long-sleeve shirts, and crop tops, utilizing a color palette of red, blue, black, and white. Accessories include headbands and an ornate headpiece. The background features a grey gradient with faint ancient script, smoke-like clouds, and a large central red and black calligraphic character, with reflections of the figures visible at the bottom.

On the right, several diagonal strips of intricate, colorful textiles create a border. These traditional ribbons feature various embroidered patterns, including white and black spirals with red and blue accents, pink floral motifs on a cream background, and vibrant geometric designs in shades of pink, blue, green, and black.
